During my first term on the County Council I introduced Bill 25-11 at the request of a local firearms retailer. The legislation was backed by Maryland Shall Issue and supported by numerous Pro-2nd Amendment advocates in our county. The bill was an attempt to reverse a previous unconstitutional law mandating a new licensing structure, new reporting requirements, and new fees for county firearms retailers that I argued were not permitted under state law.
As a councilman I voted in favor of Bill 18-13 that permitted Anne Arundel citizens to carry tasers and other electronic control devices. As your State Delegate I will work to ensure law abiding citizens have the right to carry a concealed firearm and our 2nd Amendment rights are protected.
